With all the research I have done, I thought it would be helpful to give you some info on acne.  First of all, I used to have THE worst skin ever.  Trust me, I wasn’t lucky like I am now. From eczema all over my body, to psoriasis on my scalp and adult spots on my face. Sorry if you are an avid reader of my blog, as you will know this. But because of the change I’ve seen, it’s become a huge passion of mine!

I would use steroid creams, take fungal treatment pills, have all sorts of chemicals to put on my head and face and nothing seemed to properly fix it. At the time, I didn’t really know a whole lot about good nutrition. In fact I knew nothing, I would eat anything and everything I wanted. No wonder I was starting to put on weight (as I got older my metabolism slowed down….dammit!! But also no shock that my skin was horrendous!)

Safe to say, when I learnt more about treating my issues holistically, i.e. with my diet as well as decent skin care I noticed a HUMUNGOUS difference. My skin has totally changed, like totally.

Have you ever changed the way you eat in order to support your skin?

If not, it may be time to think about it. You truly are what you eat – too much sugar and refined carbs causes fine lines and wrinkles, too much dairy causes puffy eyes and spots on the chin and too much gluten can cause puffy cheeks and spots on the forehead.

Are any of these pictures your face?

So what happens to your skin? Well as you can imagine, your skin is your largest organ. When you fill your body with things it struggles to digest it starts to show signs of being unhappy. So this is when its good to give it a rest, and detox (be careful what detox you follow….check out this blog to see what I recommend.) Then have a little think about what your life might look like living an 80/20 rule. 80% of the time eating healthy and well and clean, then 20% enjoying your treats – prosecco, cake, chips! Whatever you like.

If you’d like any help at all with adapting your diet slightly, message me. I’d love to see if I can help you in anyway.

Lots of love,

Amy xxx
